arrived late in Viña del Mar and took a room at the Residencial Ona Berri (like a homestay) in the center. Viña has long been Chile's premier beach resort, but it's also a bustling commercial center (pop 300.000). It is popularly known as the Garden City. The main attractions of course are the sandy beaches that stretch northward (but its too cold right now to go to the beach). Took a bus to Valparaiso, a vital port and one of South America's most distinctive cities, only a few minutes away from Viña, and explored one of the colorful barrio...

Sep 11, 2005 - A quite weekend

Well, tried to keep things a little quiter this weekend, I've bin spending too much cash traveling (and eating) figured I stay a little closer to home, so I didn't have to dish out cash for a place to stay! Spent Friday on a search for horse, but just incase you all didn't know, like we didn't. horse seem to get the day off on Friday and you can't find um anywhere, we went to the two towns north of us Concon and Renaca witch both lie right on the beach, pretty quite towns. So no horses, thats OK beacuse there is always Empandas. Empandas...
