Aug 9, 2013 - Brockville, Ontario

Left: Toronto, Ontario Arrived: Iroquois, Ontario (just east of Brockville) Arrived: August 9, 2013 Departed: August 11, 2013 August 9th Had a lovely visit this morning with our friends from Victoria son in Toronto. Nice to see you Mark! Looking forward to seeing you again at Christmas. We then had to drive the 401 highway, my what a stressful drive, for me, that was. I give Ray huge cudos for being able to drive with our truck and trailer in that traffic. I couldn't/wouldn't be able to do it. I guess I have to get used to it as as we go...

Aug 19, 2011 - DJ's 15th birthday

Went from New Brunswick through Quebec and into Ontario today. We stopped at St. Hubert's for lunch and brought DJ to the factory where they make the fudge he likes. Sadly, the place was closed that day so he couldn't even ask for a tour! When we got to Brockville, Krista fed us supper and then brought out a great cake for DJ. Her and Cleat even let my friend, Karine Bailey, from nearby Kemptville stop in for a visit and we all had a nice chat. Forgot to mention there was a wild turkey down the road from Krista's house when we arrived. Mike...

Sep 25, 2010 - Another Camp Walmart

Left Riviere-du-Loup at 9:00 after buying a new windshield wiper at Canadian Tire. Tough to see in the rain if your wiper doesn't work properly. An easy drive to Montreal even though there was light rain and fog. Highway is 4 lane, level and smooth. Went south around Montreal through Valleyfield and it was OK.. Better than going through downtown Montreal. Before lunch sky cleared and sun came out. Road from Montreal to Brockville is smooth and level. I used cruise control today for the first time in 4 weeks. Arrived Camp Walmart in...

Lucky we even got a campsite as it is a long weekend but we picked the right spot and got set up around 9pm. Had supper at another Mom and Pop place that still had a lunch counter and it was as good as ever, i think Randi might have had her last poutine as we go away from the Belle Province. One diner...

Jul 11, 2010 - Mallorytown, Ontario

We had hoped to make the 9 or 10 hour trip from Quebec City to home in one day. Passing through Montreal we realized traffic could become a problem. Cottage country traffic was going to be quite heavy, and we decided why rush home to an empty house tonight. Glenna started a campground search for anything past half way home. KOA campgrounds generally fulfill most of our requirements and are reasonably priced. Glenna found a KOA at Mallorytown which is just west of Brockville. The campground is less than a mile from the 401, and after a quick...
