Day 14, Sunday, August 26, 2012, Into Nova Scotia (4 photos) On the road by 9:30, an early start for us. Traveled by Moncton, NB, through Truro, NS, with a stop at the Nova Scotia (NS) Welcome Centre at the border. Have decided not to do the South Shore of NS since we have seen most of it, from a distance, along the north shore of New Brunswick. After some restocking of necessities, called it a day around 4 PM, near Havre Boucher, about an hour from Cape Breton Island. Made reservations (2 sites left) to return to this campground for Labor...

Sep 11, 2007 - Placentia, Newfoundland to Tracadie, Nova Scotia

The ferry crossing last night was very smooth. We had not been able to book a berth so opted for a "reserved seat", which is basically a reclining seat similar to an airliner. In fact the seats were much better than an airliner and Janine slept well most of the night. I on the other hand hardly slept at all which is unusual. We docked at North Sydney, Nova Scotia about 1:30 PM. It was overcast but much warmer than Placentia, Newfoundland. Aug 17, 2007 - Windsor to Tracadia Bay, Nova Scotia

There was a major storm overnight near Halifax which is only about 75 km from Windsor. Janine had been awakened several times by the thunder and lightning. As usual, I slept through the whole thing. In the morning the sky was heavily overcast so we doned our liners expecting a rainy ride. It remained overcast all day but fortuneatly, we somehow avoided the rain which was falling all around us.
