Drove north-west along the French Shore. Most of the locals are french-speaking Acadians (originated from French fishermen who settled in the region in the early 1500s). First thing we noticed about Nova Scotia (latin for New Scotland) was how quiet it was - no traffic at all on the roads, a big change from New England.
