Jun 12, 2017 - hiking our way along the east coast of the Cabot Trail

Perfect weather again this morning. Donna has an ambitious list of hikes and a waterfall on our list as we head north to explore the east side of the Cabot trail sans trailer. B&R decide to take their camper up to do some exploring of their own. After a couple of stops for construction and a long slow pull up Mount Smokey we are soon at park info where a helpful ranger confirms Donna has selected some great hikes. There are 26 hikes in Cape Breton Highlands National Park. We had zeroed in on 14 hikes that looked promising so hope to get to...

We had never realized how much that man had contributed to us, and even more to the deaf. From there we went to the Highlands Village where we learned lots about the Gaelic life. The sun had made its way through the clouds by this time and I could get some great pictures of the Bras d'Or Lake which contains 450 sq. miles. We followed the Bras d'Or scenic route a couple hours...

Aug 26, 2013 - Cape Breton Highlands National Parfk

Since I started planning this trip a year ago, my biggest wish had been that we would have good weather for the day we drove the Cabot Trail which goes through the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. My wish was definitely granted with an absolute gorgeous day, and the trail was even more beautiful that I could ever have dreamed!! More photo shots per mile than I've ever taken! Our first stop was the city of Cheticamp where we strolled the city's boardwalk. Next we stopped at the visitor center at the entrance of the national park, and as...
