We decided to say here another day as it is such a lovely spot. After breakfast, Ian headed off down to the beach to try fishing there whilst I had a cup of coffee and read a bit more of my book. It was very pleasant sitting outside being entertained by quite a few splendid blue wrens flitting in and out of the shrubbery beside our van. Just before lunch I walked down to the beach with the dogs to meet up with Ian and let them have another run. Jan 31, 2017 - Paynesville to Glasshouse camp area - Lake Tyers

We were packed up and on the road by about 9.30am this morning. We had no particular plans for where we had to be this evening, so after leaving Paynesville and heading east out of Bairnsdale, we followed the lakes back into Metung to have a look around. Ian and I had been here with Geoff and Di just over 20 years ago as we had hired a yacht from Riveria Nautica which is based in Metung.
