Sep 27, 2004 - Double Island, Fraser Island & Whitsunday Islands

Ater pa fastlandet vid en dator! Efter surfningen i Noosa akte vi till Double Island for en beachcampingweekend tillsammans med Fras (han vi bodde hos i Noosa) och hans vanner fran Irland och Skottland. Riktigt trevligt med taltning, surfning och brasa. Tva natter var vi ute och som mest var vi runt 25 personer. Sand overallt; nar man vaknade upp pa morgonen tuggade man sand. Kom tillbaka till Fras hus i Noosa pa sondagen (19 sept) och hade en lugn kvall med tvattning och ompackning. Pa mandagen var det sa dags for mig att skiljas fran...

A-Lo Australien 2004

Sep 16, 2004 - Sharks in Noosa

Nu har vi aterkommit till civilisationen. I sondags akte vi till Ayers Rock, eller Uluru som aboriginernas korrekta namn ar, mitt ute i Australiens oken, the outback. Flog fran Sydney via Melbourne (mkt konstigt, men blev billigare) till Ayers Rock, dar det fanns en flygplats. Flog alltsa inte till Alice Springs, vilket pa ett satt var synd eftersom jag ville se den staden efter att ha last A town like Alice nar jag gick i skolan. Vi bodde tva natter pa Desert Garden Hotel i ett centrum uppbyggt mitt ute i ingenstans for alla som besoker...

A-Lo Australien 2004

Mar 14, 2004 - Hervey Bay

We drove up the coast 3.5 hours from Brisbane airport (after seeing Olga off) past the turn off to Australia Zoo (easy to spot due to lots of huge hoardings with Steve Irwin on them) and the Glass House Mountains (so called by Captain Cook in 1770 as they reminded him of glass furnaces in Yorkshire). Hervey Bay was really nice, great beach, good weather and cheap accomodation. We found ourselves a unit for AU$50 a night with sitting room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. It was great to be at our new home whilst waiting for our Fraser Island...

Jul 9, 2003 - Sunshine Coast, Australia

We were met at the airport by Barb and her daughters April, age 10 and Lilly only 10 weeks. We stayed with Bernie's friends for almost a week. Rob is quite a character whose favourite saying is "you've landed on your feet"! He is a children's entertainer and our boys couldn't really make him out. For a while they thought that they might get hurt by the "drop bears" in the garden. We saw the area all round Caloundra and Bernie got in a bit of surfing but it was far too cold. The highlight for the boys was a trip to Sea World on the Gold...
