Mar 5, 2007 - Go Wild Tour

I feel almost too tired to write as I re-live my one day trip!! We started by visiting a wildlife reserve near Port Douglas. It was splendid - we saw birds including a Cassoway (like an Emu but much more attractive - but far more stroppy!), fruit bats, crocodiles, roo's and koala's. We then cruised around Port Douglas. This is the millionaire;s paradise, pop stars, politicians and the great and good all hand out here. We walked down to Mossman gorge - 100% humidity in the tropical rain forest - apparently forrest here is oldest in existance...

Jul 5, 2005 - Cape Tribulation and Port Douglas

Picked up our capmnpervan, and headed north to cape tribulation (so called due to the trouble Captain Cook and the endeavour found themselves in thanks to the local reefs). The RAINforest in these parts has definitely lived up to it's name in the past few days, despite this supposedly being the dry season. The weather is positively British at the moment, if a little more humid. Visited a couple of the rainforest walks but all of the wildlife was sheltering....as we should have been. There's some nice mountainous rainforest plunging right...
