Oct 25, 2016 - Talbingo

25th October – Talbingo and the Snowy Mountains. We arrived here yesterday after a drive along the Hume and a stop in Tumut for groceries and lunch; we just had a burger and went to a park to eat it, promptly surrounded by honking geese that seemed to know that food came from caravans… By 2:00pm we had settled onto our site and ready for action. Well the action was full on today. The guy running the van park suggested a drive up to see the falls so after lunch we set out. It was a single lane rugged mountain road, lots of ruts and free...

Aug 28, 2012 - Tumut to Talbingo

Day 5- 28th August Awoke to a mild frost (6C), quack quacks, laughing birds and the gentle sound of the Tumet river. Tumet camping ground is a magic spot where you can camp right on the rivers edge, plenty of showers/toliets/bbq area at $29/night. Cheap considering the view! After Joshiemoo chases a few quack quacks, he and dad head down to the rivers edge. I tried driving for a bit, since there was no traffic, but it was very tiring and I soon gave up. By the end of the day Steve had that glazed "too much driving" look. Steve: I swear, there was not a single stretch of straight highway...

Aug 27, 2008 - August 27 2008

August 27 2008 We packed up the camper trailer then left for Adaminaby. When we got there we saw the big trout. We had lunch then left to find a place to stay. We got to the first place but they didn’t have any cabins. We went next door but they didn’t have any either. So on the back we saw a small mountain with some snow and ice so we pulled over. On the way back we decided to go up to Mt Selwyn and hire our ski gear. So we hired 2 jackets, 2 toboggans, 2 pairs of ski pants and 3 pairs of walking boots for tomorrow and next. We had a...
