Tuesday 27th Sept - Rylestone to Quirindi via Muswellbrook This morning has dawned with full sun, no cloud, and only the slightest of breeze. What great promise for today after all the cold weather we have had. We got away at 9 and headed N up Belong Valley Way crossing over the range through a pass from the Belong Valley the the Upper Hunter Valley. Tuesday 27th Bylong Valley Way Today we drove over the Great Dividing Range through the Bylong Valley way and beside the Bylong River. The views were magnificent with the river running and the plains stretching out as far as one could see and I can now imagine how the pioneers must have felt when they were faced with the decision of where to set up their villages. Before we arrived at Muswellbrook we passed the enormous Bengalla and Mangoola Open cut coal mines and of course with that went the long trains with the coal wagons attached. One...

Feb 9, 2007 - Down unda' in 'straya

Ben: G'day Mate! Ow are ya going? We be havin' a rippa of a time down unda'. The caravan we hyad is fully sick and after toppin er up we began our journey in the Big Smoke of Sydney before throwin' in tha towel and headin' for the mulga of the Blue Mountains. They was a little bit of a fizza but we gave em a fair go before gettin' racked off on the road to lower Hunta' Valley. We went for broke though and threw the map down the gurla.
