Oct 25, 2017 - Shoalhaven Heads for a week

What a hectic couple of days. Here we are at Shoalhaven Heads after a mad dash from Apollo Bay, Would have been great to have actually stopped off as planned but that was not to be. Yesterday was an interesting drive from Winchelsea to Orbost. This morning as my Czech mate would say “it was with rain down pissing” but we ran out of rain around Bega. We stopped at beautiful down town Cann River for breakfast and fuel. My how Cann River has grown, 2 servos, 2 bakeries 3 cafes a hotel and free caravan park... Later in the day we are driving...

Apr 8, 2015 - Max'n'Me-Steamers Beach

Okey maybe you all notified that Max'n'Me mostly have been sitting in the car, driving around and not doing a lot apart from sitting in the car. Maybe that was the reason for what comes next: We had decided to do a walk in the Booderee National Park and as we parked our car I said jokingly 'We could run instead of walking' and Max said 'Okey we can do that!'... We packed up and set off on Sunday and ended up at Shellharbour shopping centre looking for somewhere to stay as all the parks were booked out, we ended up back at Kiama showgrounds for the night. While there I phoned around and managed to find a caravan park back at Nowra for 7 nights, so Monday we headed back to Nowra and set up just before lunch. The rest of Monday we decided to sit back. Tuesday as we both have picked up a cold we will not be doing much, we went out and did some shopping and went to the visitors centre. That afternoon...

Jul 17, 2009 - Final preparation

Somewhere in the last few days mild apprehension has been replaced by absolute panic about what we are about to attempt. The reality has set in now that we are counting down the last few days. We are down in Culburra at the moment and have managed to successfully get the van out of the back yard. Easier said than done, when you consider it needed to be done just after dark in the middle of a downpour. If we hadn’t got it out then we would have needed to float it out in the next couple of weeks. For me towing in perfect conditions is still a...

Apr 11, 2008 - 11th April, Nowra

Friday 11th April....surprise, surprise...we actually managed some sleep, despite a continous convoy of trucks all night. Also much warmer than our previous night up in the Snowy mountains. I had my breakfast early sitting watching the trucks while eating me muesli. As we drove in last night I spotted a yard full of old machinery that required further inspection. While Terri was having her breakfast I went for a wander down the main(?) street of Bookham to see what was in the yard. A crying shame really....it was a few acres of old...
