Oct 29, 2006 - Murramarang National park
A national park, with salt and fresh water lakes and right on the ocean with a beautiful sandy beach, who could ask for more. What if there weren't any pesky flies. Oh my, what a place. Sadly only time for one night here, but two swims in the ocean and one in the salt water lake, a raging campfire and visits by our friendly little possum and giant lizard made for a memorable stay. At this point, we turn inland and head for Melbourne as our time is almost up and we've still got some kilometers to go before we arrive in Melbourne.Jump to full entry
Apr 2, 2006 - Back to the Coast!
Happy Birthday Kim!! That wouldn't happen to be the big 4-0 would it!!!!! Jeff's up with the birds again...what am I saying...no respectable bird is even up yet. Daylight Savings Time ended in the middle of the night, so, rather than it being 6:00 when I arise, it is really only 5! I love this!!! While Jeff tries to map trip points and upload pictures on a very slow connection, I decide it is high time to assemble various bits of Australian currency and take a picture. Oct 13, 2005 - Bateman's Bay (27/08/05)
A bus ride from Canberra. A day out.I thought that getting back to the coast for a while might kick out my apathy...sea air and so on. It didn't work. The place itself is OK, but a real sleepy hollow. The more time I spent walking around, the more tired I felt. I had been recommended to go to Duras Beach, just up from here, but it was out of my reach. I think I could see it, a little way along the coastline from the beach I was standing on, but there were no buses going there from here and without wheels, it just wasn't going to...Jump to full entry
