Sus' BIG TRIP

Oct 21, 2006 - Sydney

We've spent the last week in Sydney, enjoying this beautiful city and all the comforts of Ilde and Marks home in Balmain (a beautiful suburb of Sydney). We arrived in on Saturday afternoon and went out for dinner in a local Thai restaurant with Ilde, Mark and friends. It was so nice to leave our backpacks down, shower and socialise with other people. We spent the rest of the week doing general site seeing and touristy things during the day and either going out for dinner with Ilde and Mark or enjoying Ilde's delicious home cooking in the...

Oct 9, 2006 - tourist activities in Sydney

Still bit jet lagged, we woke up on the sunday evening and decided to take a late night stroll down the city centre by the opera house. very quiet stroll, but was good to see the opera house and the harbour around. Then we hit Monday, and decided to wake early and make a visit into the city centre. Our hostel was only 10 minutes from the harbour which was convenient. It was a really busy day and surprised to see how cosmopolitian Sydney is. We decided to do a tour of the city centre via a rapid cruise. Totally surprising as we thought this...

Rosie and Ben

Oct 2, 2006 - Sydney

We arrived in Sydney after an eventful flight, but at least with all our luggage intact. The lady sitting next to me (Sylvia) became very ill on the flight, after I summoned the flight attendant we had to move into the isle to allow the crew in. As we were in the way they moved us to the crew seats where we spent most of the rest of the flight. After breakfast we were able to return to our original seats and pleased to say she had recovered if still a little shaky. After checking in to our hotel we went off in search of the sights of...

Sep 17, 2006 - Marathon

Got up really early today to get the train over to Milsons Point. Very nervous, as there seemed to be loads of running teams and very few fools like me. Enjoyed the start across the harbour bridge and around the botanic gardens. Got some friendly abuse off the clubbers coming out of the bars on Oxford Road (it was 7.30am!) and Sarah and Michael gave me a cheer on at Centennial Park. It was actually a good tour of the city! Anyway having been forced to keep running as we came back through the city as police held up traffic my body kind of...

Aug 24, 2006 - Start spreadin' the news...

Wow, I can't believe I'm actually leaving Australia. I know I have already but I don't count New Zealand since it took longer to get to Perth! So it;s back to the Pinkhouse one last time, a quick jaunt around the sights (well, sight) of Sydney, and then on to New York. To all of you back home - see you pretty soon, and to everyone still here - lucky you and hope you have a fantastic time. I just want to say thanks to all the awesome people I've met over here (and there are a lot of you) for making my time here so great, and hopefully I'll...

Jul 22, 2006 - NFL

Yes, I went to watch sport!?! Think its only my third time in a stadium - why have too much of a good thing! Have to say it's much more interesting that soccer (sorry football!) especially when you have a girl to talk to and make frequent trips for people to the bar. And the best thing - they have mini matches for the kiddy football clubs during half time - some are only about four years old and go running off in tears.

Apr 19, 2006 - Sydney 2.-3. Tag

:-). Der Anzug ist...

Apr 10, 2006 - Australia - Sydney

After what seemed like a mammoth journey I eventually made it to Sydney and, after a big confusion at the hostel in Kings Cross, I met up with Sarah which was great! It was so nice to see a familiar face again and, of course, we headed straight out for a drink! The area where we are staying, Kings Cross, is like the one in London i.e. seedy, but it was really really nice with loads of cool cafes and bars and it was just to nice to be back in a more westernised country where I could get the food I really wanted....doner kebabs were first on...

Mar 17, 2006 - sydney

G'day again in Australia, mate. Dit is bekend terrein. Bijna vijf jaar geleden stonden we hier ook al te gapen naar dat...
