Jun 3, 2018 - Darlington Point to Mail Route Rest Area just west of Euston

Up at 6.45, quick shower and pack up. Meet Carolyn and Michael members of the ACT ACC Branch who are also doing the big lap on the way to Denmark for the Muster. They are meeting friends in Burra so we are sure to meet them along the way. On the road by 9am, visit the dump point then fuel at Waddi, which is cheaper than Griffith and head for Hay. We drive through heavy fog for miles, and the air is freezing. Cannot believe the amount of cotton being grown on what was once dry farming country. New canals have been put in and we see cotton...

Apr 5, 2015 - Lake Benanee on the Sturt Hwy top spot

We travelled from Birdcage to Lake Benanee along the Sturt Hwy thru Hay where we stopped for lunch and walked the streets, we then continued stopping just before Euston. The day started with just a drizzle of rain and very few cars/trucks on the road being Easter Saturday. The road was long and straight with much wildlife seen along the way. 2 x foxes crossing the road around 0900 and again at 1000. very unusual. Emu families of 3 to 4 every couple miles. Lots of sheep, a few cattle and the usual roo road kill. Mind you we also saw one...
