At least Robert got to meet Spongebob Squarepants in Santiago before he had to fly home. Richard on the other hand got to meet two the next day and there was a full on street market selling all sorts of stuff. We first went to the Chilean Museum of Precolumbian Art and then to a couple of viewpoints. The first was walking up Cerro Santa Lucia (630 metres high up) and the second we got to by funicular, Cerro San Cristobal (869 metres).

In between we watched the Olypmic singles mens gold medal final where Chilean victor overcame the American fish. The city went wild. You could hear the beeping of horns and cheering from the top of Cerro San Cristobal long after the end of the match.

We caught the 2 km long telerifico (cable car) back down and finished the night off with a few cocktails in a nearby posh hotel before turning in. Richard flies home tommorrow. We have enjoyed travelling with Sarah's brothers a lot and will miss them. Thanks a lot Grey Squirral and The Wasp. See you in October.
