Ceuchescu's last stand

Very very bizarre city! Enormous boulevards, with nothing driving on them, a truly humoungous palace and some strange residents. Romania if anything has to go down as one of Eastern Europes peculiarities, a legacy of a certain Mr Ceuchescu (however it's spelt). I was lucky enough to turn up on the weekend of an outdoor music and big sausage event in the main square in front of that monolith of a palace, I can't remember all the facts about it's size and construction but lets just say it was probably the ultimate in "communist" follies.
