Day 32 - Wed 12th Feb

Well it looks like the fine sunny weather has ended at last. This morning was a bit dull & cloudy at last & although we did get a few drops of rain later it did brighten up. We continued Northward up the coast towards Barcelona but turned off inland before we got that far. We are heading up to Andorra, the tiny country in the North of Spain in the Pyranees. Not sure if we will be able to go through the mountains there & into France it will depend on whether the roads are closed by snow. We won’t know till we get there. We did pass through once back in 1994 but can’t remember much about it.

We did have a last morning coffee stop at a McDonald’s in Spain on the coast. We had to pay a whole euro each for a coffee & croissant which, including the free Wi-fi & toilet break, made it great value.

As we headed inland we were back amongst the mountains again but the roads were good despite staying off the motorways. Stopped for lunch at Torrega where we found a great Aire especially for motorhomes. A fenced & paved area with free water & waste disposal. Only one other motorhomes there. We took the opportunity to have a look round the town before topping up the diesel at a nearby filling station at €1.03/ltr. We will be looking at €1.36/ltr back in France so it pays to fill up before we get there.

We stopped for the night at a wild camping site on the hill overlooking a dam about forty miles short of Andorra. A small car parking area at a viewing area, a bit remote but a great spot. We even logged a cache at the back of viewing area. No other cars or motorhomes we were all on our own for the night.
