Happy New Year
Jan 1, 2020
|Ann and I would like to wish you a belated Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
I am sorry I didn’t get the cards out this year...heck, I don’t even know where they are. We are so disorganized now with all the moving of things that I pretty much wear the same close daily. Ah, no, not the undies or socks...I know you were thinking it.
Well, tomorrow is our big move. After I finish this segment of the journal, we will crawl in bed for the last time in the bedroom we’ve been in for 27 years. I guess we should be feeling sad about it. But I think we are at the point we just want to move on. It’s been good. Kids were raised in a super neighborhood. We’ve met many friends and plan to keep in touch with many. I wrote a song years back and part of the lyrics were:
“For years we’ve watched the children, it’s so sad how fast they’ve grown.
They’ve left their marks upon the walls, in this north Wisconsin home”
So with those marks we leave a lot of great memories. It’s now time to move on and make memories in our new North Wisconsin Home.
So many things have happened these past few weeks. All the contractors have finished their work except for our master tiler... we need to pick out the tile for the kitchen backsplash. We also are putting in a new sink and quartz top in the lower level bath. We were just waiting for the luxury vinyl tile to be completed. LVT... were you paying attention waaayy back?
The lower level carpeting is now in and what a difference it makes. Warmer and much quieter.
Our Daughter, Lisa, and her husband, Bob, came in for the Holidays from San Diego. We had such a nice Christmas with them, our son Joey and wife Jodie, and their two sons, Jaye and Jaxon. It made our Holiday complete. Lisa and Bob were also a big help with taking carloads of things to the condo. Yup, earned them a nice New Years Eve dinner. Pretty much all that is left is the big items for the movers...and they arrive tomorrow morning.
With that, Ann and I have a big day tomorrow so I’ll sign off for tonight and catch you back up in a couple of days. By then, it’ll start to look like home sweet home.
Again, have a blessed New Years!
