Awwwww --- Ricky & Rachel

Awwwww --- Ricky & Rachel #2

We’re back in Texas, but the weather is “screwy” – 94 yesterday, 44 this morning so all I’m getting is “I’m cold” complaints from you-know-who ;-)

Anyhow, Bill Howard, dear friend from the 70’s, “insisted” that we stay with him at his bachelor pad. The purpose of this stop was to visit him and to attend the “old timers” brunch. The old timers are a group of folks who once worked at Headquarters, Air Force Military Personnel Center at Randolph Air Force Base, Texas. A great bunch of folks who I worked with back in the 80’s who I don’t get to see very often. Great visit. Going to try to see more friends from our Korea days in the 80’s when we return to the area after my granddaughter's wedding later this month.

We arrived in Austin for #1 Granddaughter Rachel's wedding to Ricky, at the Hampton Inn, courtesy of #3 daughter, Lona. Big room, king bed, Jacuzzi in the bedroom and a great breakfast. We’ll be here for four days to attend my #1 granddaughter's wedding. In the meantime, we have a dinner tonight at our Rachel and Ricky's home (perfect Fajita dinner) then the Rehearsal Dinner (at a Steak House with fantastic steaks) and then the wedding on Saturday (with Ribs & Chicken).

The bride (granddaughter Rachel) looked fantastic; like someone stepping out of a Marriage Magazine and Ricky was the perfect groom.-- they really look good with each other. The ceremony was held outside and God granted us a perfect day with no rain, etc. The venue was beautiful and colorful and even had a Mariachi band. I behaved myself and hung out at the bar, with my newest drunken friends ;-)

We met Terri and Kimi, et al, the next morning for a farewell breakfast at the hotel. We checked out of here Sunday and moved to the Holiday Inn Club Vacations Hill Country Resort. We’ll be at this resort for a week during which we plan to attend a get-together at friend Wayne Nelson’s home for a BBQ with old friends from days past serving at the Air Force Military Personnel Center (1983-1987) and Korea (1987-1988).

Thanks for travelling with us. More later....
