4 day trip to Siem Reap, Cambodia

Jul 4: Siem Reap city

- Landed in Siem Reap around 3:00 PM

- Hotel shuttle picked us up (We stayed at Borei Angkor Resort & Spa)

- Local shopping at night market/ $3 Fish spa (w/ complimentary beer) / $2 Foot massage

- Pub street (Khmer kitchen restaurant, The Angkor Wat? bar, Miss Wong for cocktails)

Jul 5: Full day temple visit with Asean tour guide

- Started at 8AM

- Angkor Thom

....King Jayavarman VII, late twelfth century

....Entered through north gate ( Churning of the Sea of Milk statues)

....First stop- Bayon (King Jayavarman VII, Buddhist, temple with smiling faces)

....Phimeanakas (end of 10th century, Rajendravarman, first temple in this complex, inside the walled enclosure of the Royal Palace of Angkor Thom, Hindau)

....Baphuon(Udayadityavarman II, mid 11th century, dedicated to Hindu god Shiva, we went all the way to the top- great views)

...Terrace of the elephants

- Angkor Wat

...We went in the afternoon, it was hot but less hardly anyone (good time to visit)

...largest religious monument in the world

...It is designed to represent Mount Meru, home of the devas in Hindu mythology

...Suryavarman II

- Siem Reap museum

- Pub street area (more foot/neck massages)

Jul 6: Full day temple visit with Asean tour guide

- Started the day at 4:30AM

- Sunrise at Angkor Wat

- Ta Prom (Tomb raider temple, for Jayavarman VII's mother)

- Pre Rup (Rajendravarman II)

- Ta Som (Jayavarman VII's, for general commanders and imp. people who have passed away)

- Neak Pean (hospital or healing temple)

- Preah Khan (for Jayavarman VII's father)

- Bantei Serei (by Jayavarman V, Rajendravarman II's son)

- Floating village

- Phare circus at night

Jul 7: Local markets and flight back around 4PM
