|We have risen 22feet over 4 locks and 3 hours motoring today, and are now at Theale.
The name Theale probably derives from the Anglo Saxon "thielu" meaning plank. Wooden bridges were necessary in the settlement area due to frequent flooding.
We managed to get here with just one light shower but about 1/2 hour after we'd put the wheel house back together it poured down.
Then a short time later the sun came out and there were beautiful blue skies so we set off for a walk into Theale.
A few sore heads going in and out of these front doors I would think!!!!
A large church but it was closed today which is a pity. Not such a big grave yard though.
We got back to the boat just before the next shower.
