After a long day, leaving Henley at 9.00am we reached the Tesco grocery store and stocked up again. Then we fuelled up, took down the roof, and set off to make our way onto the Kennet & Avon Canal.
The river is at least a foot lower than it was when we first tried to get up it in March, and hardly flowing, so we were able to get through the dreaded bridge without any trouble at all.
This is the awkward traffic light you have to get to before the bridge, luckily it changed straight away as there wasn't anyone coming through from the other end.
So we are now moored up at Fobney Lock, and will stay here for a few days to settle down again. It's quite a relief to get off the Thames, even though it's wide it's fraught with problems - paddlers, rowers, stink boats wobbling all over the place etc. etc.!!
