Final farming land photo

Hi All,

Final 2 stops on the way south and home were at Bundaberg and at Hervey Bay. Bundaberg for Australians is famous for production of rum, Bundaberg Rum made there due to the quantity and quality of sugar available locally though there is now more diversification with production also going to macadamia nut and various market gardens including melons. We saw pickers in a paddock picking cucumbers, must be back braking work though, good for the young and fit. The area is very pretty as you can see from the photos taken from a hill overlooking the area.

Final stop was at Hervey Bay a great place to see hump back whales before they return to the Antarctic. We had planned to go whale watching but the weather was cold and windy not the best weather to be on a boat in a very large bay and outside, we have done a trip twice before so left it to another trip. A bit of work was needed to get the van ready to go back to storage all of which got done.

So home we went after 9 weeks on the road, over 8600kms, lots of fuel and a few breakages all of which can be expected as the van is now 8 years old and the car 5 but they are both good for more trips which will happen.

Thank you all for watching, for the emails and the support as ever until the next trip.

Love and regards
