The Olson's Retirement RV Adventures travel blog

Going up getting interesting.

California Highway. Very interesting.

No shoulders.

Comming out.

Hello Nevada.

Walker, middle of nowhere gas prices.

South of Parumph. We had to push on out of the middle...

Lake Mead leaving Vegas.

Diana headed home.

We left Bishop and went south to hwy. 168 toward Nevada. An interesting road to say the least. It started out straight and flat, then climbed quickly and winding. This was all normal until we got to the summit and the road became a single lane twisting and turning through the rock faces. They had to have used a horse to find this trail. After that pass, the Nevada state line and 2 more passes, we found hwy. 95 south toward Vegas. But we detoured through Parumph, because we had never been there and it was the same distance. The other benefit was that we came into Vegas at the SW side of town as opposed to the north center, saving the drive through town.

Once we got through it was 2:30 and we decided to drive home, with a quick lunch. We got home at 7:00. Though We had a great time seeing friends, we are glad to be home. Now get use to the heat and go up north to our Motorhome often.
