We visited Svolvaer for a short stop. It is framed by towering mountains. This colorful port town supports a thriving cod fishing industry; its shores are dotted with traditional fish-drying racks.
While there we visited the Lofoten War Memorial Museum. Mr. William Hakvaag put this museum together from WWII memorabilia that he collected over the years. Very impressive. (www.Jofotenkrigmus.no)
