Sandra's Canada, Alaska and North America Trip - 2019 travel blog

The day dawned bright, blue and very warm. Thankfully it wasn’t too humid and there was a little bit of a breeze blowing.

After a leisurely breakfast, I headed out the door to explore the main city area. Being a Saturday, there were a lot of people doing the same thing but it was early and not too busy. I wandered here and there with my trusty map in hand. Occasionally I found a shady spot to sit and just ‘people watch’.

Around 1.30 I was feeling hot and a bit tired so walked back to the air conditioned comfort of my hotel room and had a little rest (ok.... I had a nana nap) It was a lovely indulgence!

Refreshed, I went out again about 3.30 - walking in a different direction this time - down to the Delaware River which was absolutely teeming with people enjoying the second day of Summer. Again, I just strolled along at my own pace, admiring the lovely houses in the area.

I returned to the hotel just after 6 - with a delicious, freshly made Thai chicken salad from a local deli.

Tomorrow, I’ll explore another part of this interesting city.
