Crescent City Bay

June 11 - it was a beautifully cool morning as we headed out going north on hwy 101. We drove through a redwood forest which leads to Richardson State Park near Garberville. The road was only a two Lane, and as we came around one of the Bends cars had been stopped due to road construction but we had no advance warning which required a very fast stop as everything in the rig shifted and moved. But it is nice to know all the braking systems work great! I wanted to add that once you get north of San Francisco and are driving with the windows open you have a very strong recurring smell of pot! This area is notorious for that as well as the farmers/ranchers who grow it. We also drove through Humboldt redwoods State Park. We stayed here for a night or two last October during our Berkeley/Arcata simcha visit.

From the forest we now find ourselves at the ocean again. Nice and cool and beautiful, but that won’t last for long. Crescent city is a small city but a lot of RV parks along the ocean and marina for the boats. We took a ride over to the cheese factory which is interesting but I have all the cheese we need in the rig already. RV park is right next to the Bay which is nice calm water. We took Bailey on a nice walk on the sand. The evenings cool down quickly and are really nice. Tomorrow we go to Ashland, Oregon.
