Waiter at Hotel in Windsor knows we like the window table. Hotel is right on the banks of Thames. So sorry to be leaving here. Went for final walk around the village. Staff had given us a gift box of local Fudge for our Anniversary, so had some while we waited for plane.
We sat next to a lady on our flight - a Swedish university lecturer. She was so helpful telling us what to do and see in Copenhagen.
We’re in Denmark - now at our Hotel. It is situated in an area that has only sprung up in the last 5 years. There are many 5 or 6 story unit blocks, small, but very expensive to buy. Our Hotel is decorated “retro” and our room is painted blue, purple and lemon. Looking between buildings, we have a river view.
Expensive meal! Intended having a light meal. We entered door that had cheaper menu advertised. Taken to table, treated like royalty and offered range of herb breads and spreads - “compliments of Chef”. Waiter poured drinks - to our dismay, we realised this was the expensive area - retro decor had been misleading. Suffice to say, we discovered meals in Copenhagen are very expensive - tomorrow will be bread n butter for dinner- that is, if we can find cheap rolls & butter!
