Snow covered mountains in front and behind us,its everywhere on this route

Not sure waht was waiting for us in Wells. We avoided a...

Across from our campground ,we were at 5800 ft

A cold front has moved in here and delivered a bit of winter to us prior to our arrival back home. The drive today was long and but had snowy mountain ranges on both sides of the highway. Lots of climbing on this route is probably why we didn't see many RVs or transport trucks. So much snow in places I thought we would be driving in it when we hit the 7722 ft summit, but it was only on the sides.

We have never been either up or down this highway in past years and after todays drive see no need to do it again. Its just to steep and distances are to far between places to stop.

I picked a small RV park 5 miles west of Wells that had the most scenic snow covered mountain ,it was almost down to the highway. It was cold here, we had our first rain in some time and the sound on the roof was reminiscent of many rainy camping adventures.

We have now reached the half way point in our trip home.
