We finally set off this morning Sam, Joan and Sam's sister Jean, on board their narrow boat and TranQuill following. Sam had to replace
his 5 batteries at the weekend as they were all not long for this life and Tony spent a number of hours assisting Sam.
We had the roof down as we were expecting some low bridges. There were some very low bridges, and we jusst managed to get through a couple. However, the canal is quite shallow and we are having some trouble in places, so we are going to reverse some of the way in the morning as there is nowhere close to turn around and we don't want to go any further as Tony took a walk to check out the next couple of bridges and locks and we definately won't fit under one of them.
Sam will continue until he can find somewhere to turn around which is after the next 2 or 3 locks and then will come back to the river where we will wait for them.
