Entering Moorea

Shipwreck in Moorea lagoon. Look at the blues of the sky and...

My friend the stingray.

How clear the water is!

10/9/18. Paradise found! Apparently all the pictures you see claiming to be Tahiti are really Bora Bora. It is stunning! The pictures don’t do it justice. We took an exciting off road tour of the entire island. It went all the way around and up and down three of it’s mountains. We got the most spectacular views.

10/10/18. Another slice of heaven! Had never heard of this island before but it is worth finding. Almost as beautiful as Bora Bora. Same lushness. This time we decided to go back to the water. We took a boat ride. The first stop was to swim with black tip sharks and stingrays. You don’t touch the sharks but you can the rays as long as it is on the top or wings. The wings are so soft. Softer than velvet. Very cool! Next stop was for swimming and snorkeling in a cove between two motus (small uninhabited islands). There was a wooded campground style area just off the beach where our stay included a bbq lunch. The snorkeling was much better here. Again I can’t describe the beauty of the whole area and colors of the sea. You need to come and see for yourself. I would recommend skipping Tahiti and just visit Bora Bora or Moorea. Pronounced Mo-o-rea.
