Day 6 - Tallinn (Estonia)

Docked in Tallinn at about 8am, once again in lovely, but quite breezy sunshine. We disembarked at 9.45am, this time for a non-organised day exploring the town on our own on foot. Unfortunately three other large cruise ships were in port at the same time, so this meant that nearly 10,000 of us were hitting the narrow cobbled streets of the ancient walled town at the same time and trying to visit the same attractions - not good! This is clearly one of the least appealing aspects of cruising! By lunchtime we had fought our way to all the main attractions on our list, so we headed off the main tourist track and found a quiet park in which to munch our sandwiches in peace. In the afternoon we gradually ambled our way back to the ship via some delightful and much quieter back-streets.

Unfortunately we understand that the same four ships are all heading for the same place (St Petersburg) overnight, but we were expecting it to be really busy there anyway.

Another great high-energy show this evening (this one focusing on 'dance') and then an early night ready for an 8am start in St Petersburg tomorrow.
