A great day today - we rented a car and went to the Great Yorkshire Traction Engine Club Steam and Vintage Rally (a mouthful in itself!) held at Duncombe Park in Helmsley.
There were hundreds of exhibits, working and non working, and it was a glorious day. It was probably better because the football was on this afternoon (England playing something????? and they won), so many people stayed home or went to the pub to watch the match, and they say that tomorrow will be very busy.
On the way home we drove on this very narrow road hoping that we didn't meet anyone coming the other way, passed by Little Thistlethwaite - tongue twister,
and then called into the Yorkshire Gliding Club on top of the North York Moors National Park and watched a couple of gliders land.
Then we found our way around the hill to take photos of the White Horse of Yorkshire - carved into the hillside at Kilburn. A very enjoyable day out.
