Spectacular scenery

More spectacular scenery

Three sword independence monument

Great breakfast this morning. Made sandwiches for lunch. Bags out at 8:00 a.m. bus left at nine. Took an hour and a half to get to the ferry then boarded at noon. The ferry was huge. The ride was about 3.5 hours and we landed in Norway. We ate our sandwiches on the boat, hit the duty free shop and sat around until we landed. We all went down to the car deck, boarded the bus and drove off into Norway. We landed at Kristiansgard and headed north. Norway is gorgeous with granite hills and mountains and lots of lakes. The scenery is spectacular. We drove an hour or so and stopped at a roadside hotel for a pit stop and Norwegian waffles with strawberry preserves and sour cream. Mui Delicioso! Back on the bus for more spectacular scenery (did I already say that?) and more time on the road. As we neared the hotel we stopped at a monument commemorating the battle that gave Norway it's independence. Arrived at the hotel in Stayvanger around 8:00 p.m. For a truly crappy buffet dinner. After dinner we took a walk to a nearby lake then back to the hotel to end the day. Tomorrow off to Bergen.
