Travellers Rest Free camp Manangatang.

Heavy diesel thumping away on our arrival!

Classic railway buildings from the early 1900’s.

The grain train departed leaving us in peace and quiet!

Well, the second day has been a ripper. We departed from Marong and had a two hour drive to Swan Hill. There we visited some old friends for lunch. We then made the next positive move and headed west to Nyah for some cheaper than Swan Hill diesel, $1:49 per litre. A few more k’s along the Murray Valley Hwy and a left turn at Piangil onto the Mallee Hwy taking us to our destination for tonight. We are in the travellers rest camp in Manangatang. A beaut place, very clean toilets and shower and some power, we are here alone. All for a $10 donation. When we arrived there was a freight train standing in the depot with what appeared to be enough bulk grain wagons to stretch to Robinvale. About an hour later the train departed and we were left listening to the sounds of the area. Looking forward to a good night and journeying on tomorrow
