OsySea Aquarium opened in Scottsdale last August. They experienced a few glitches at the beginning so the girls and I decided to wait until now to check it out. Josie managed to get a deal on the entrance fee which normally is $50 senior price but we got in for half of that.
There are a few unique features to this facility. The first was sharks swimming by as we washed our hands in the downstairs ladies room. The second was a very informative 3D movie about humpback whales. Most unusual was the carousel which reminded us all of a Disney ride. The carousel moved to 3 or 4 different 60 feet wide windows with different species displayed in each. As we approached the first window, a diver appeared and answered many questions about manta rays and the aquarium in general. Next we saw loggerhead turtles and green turtles. The last window was the best - the shark tank.
In the courtyard there are at least five restaurants serving all kinds of food. We chose to eat Greek food and weren't disappointed. Upon entering the aquarium, we each received a $5 coupon toward food or gift which made our lunch cost extremely reasonable.
