Day 4 GR10 St Lary Soulan to Germ
24 Aug 2017
Set off after 9am and had about a 2km walk to get back on the GR10(as our accommodation last night was off track). A nice day of walking and we were both feeling stronger. Although it was an easier day of walking. Lovely pretty countryside and we passed through a number of small flowery towns. Climbed to the Col d'Azet which is another popular cyclist climb. Many going up and down. Had lunch just down from the pass overlooking Loudenville way down in the valley. The descent wasn't as gruelling as other days although there were some steep rough slippery parts. I turned my ankle at one point and fell right over but luckily not down the slope! Saw a wonderful Hummingbird Hawkmoth feeding on a Scotch Thistle. We were sure it was a tiny bird until I looked it up later. See my photos.
A drink stop (fresh lemon) and short rest in Loudenville before a seriously steep 45min climb to our accommodation in Germ. Luckily the path wasn't too rocky.
Accommodation is in a 'mountain centre' with pool and many activities.
