As storms were forecast to hit at 14:00 we decided to take a little short cut up a ski slope and save a bit of time this morning. So we walked straight up 400m to the Col de Portet. Plenty of flags out marking an upcoming mountain foot race that leaves from our town tonight.
We crossed lots of ski slopes today and contoured around very steep slopes following one of many narrow but deep sheep tracks. After Portet we descended for much of the rest of the day. Again really steep descents of hours but mostly easier underfoot than yesterday. Although slippery in parts through the forest.
