Time to get out of the cold and into the sun. This morning we flew from Queenstown to Auckland (with about 2000 British & Irish Lions' fans as they go back to Auckland for the final test) and then Auckland to Nadi. We took Air New Zealand which was quite a pleasant travel experience - flight attendants very friendly (unlike the ones on our American Airlines flight to Auckland), all the seats had TVs so the children were entertained and they even provided a meal on the Auckland to Nadi leg.
Once we got to Nadi, we had to work our way through the Immigration process which took longer than any of us expected (30-45 min), however, the kids were great and no one complained. We got our bags, and under the cover of darkness, hopped into a taxi with a shady looking dude named Mustaffah. He turned out to be quite nice and proceeded to take us from one small town to the next over the next hour until me made it to the Intercontinental at Natadola Bay.
The wait was well worth it as the hotel could not be nicer and our room is literally 10 feet from the beach. Will report back once we have daylight on our side.
PS - check out what was on the cover of the newspaper in Queenstown. Hot chicken from Prince's!!
