Lorraine & Ian's southern trek travel blog

14/6/2017. Goondiwindi to Allora

A nice free camp, but very noisy for those who are not good sleepers. For others (not mentioning his name), it was not a problem. Another couple of vehicles came in later at night, making a total of 11 or 12. We did go into the town and spend some money, but didn't come back and put the receipt in the box as they ask.

We had lovely blue sky until we stopped at Inglewood for lunch, and a cool wind was starting to blow by then, so we sat in the van and ate. As we continued north, the sky clouded over and looking at the trees, the wind was getting quite strong. The scenery wasn't as pretty as yesterday, but every day has been different, and we saw canola for the first time. More sheep and cattle than farm land.

We stopped at Warwick and went to the shops, and I was lucky to have a couple of clothing items jump out at me and say 'buy me, buy me'. Fortunately, Ian said 'go for it', so I did.

Allora Showgrounds is our stop for tonight. We were going to free camp at Fassifern, but after last night, I said I needed somewhere not right on the highway with all those semis going through, and hopefully catch up a bit on some sleep. Last night on the road, so we're going to the local pub which has good write-ups on WikiCamps.
