We were on the road by just after 9am again this morning, didn't really have to be, but the sun is coming up earlier than we are used too! We stopped briefly in Miles to pick up what should hopefully be the last few groceries until we get home. My plan is for the fridge and pantry in the van to be as close to empty as possible when we get home, so that I can just start afresh at home.

Just out of Miles I think every member of the police force from Chinchilla was at a road block they had set up on both sides of the highway. Every one was being pulled over-cars for breathalyzer testing and all trucks were having absolutely everything checked. It was a big operation and took quite a while to get through. However, we finally got the all clear and made it to our overnight stop at the Round Waterhole (it really is round) , just outside Chinchilla about lunchtime. We didn't really drive far today, but we are really just marking time until we get home. We are also very conscious of the impending bad weather, so will be heading to Jondaryan woolshed first thing in the morning to bunker down for the next couple of days.

We rang our house sitters this afternoon, and they too, are very conscious of the forecast bad weather. I think they were hoping they could stay a few more days! I guess if they get flooded in, we will be flooded out- so will just have to see what happens in the next few days!

The weather has definitely started to deteriorate this afternoon with a bit of rain coming and going, but fingers crossed that it holds off until lunchtime tomorrow at least before it really sets in.
