|Quite a warm day again today. There was a Saturday market in town this morning, so we took the dogs for a short walk and to have a look around. I bought some fruit and vegetables, then we wandered a bit more through town to buy a paper and bun for morning tea. Ian went off fishing again for a couple of hours (caught quite a few small ones again that had to go back, but did manage to catch a couple of legal size that will do nicely for tea tonight).
We had thought we were going on a twilight boat cruise around the lake and waterways this evening, but got a call around 3pm to say that they didn’t have enough numbers for today and would try again tomorrow. Given it was still quite warm, I took myself down to the beach and actually had a swim and a sunbake in the lake area just before it enters the sea. It was just beautiful!
I met up with Ian and the dogs about halfway back to the van around 4.30 and we continued back down to the beach and along the foreshore in the reverse direction to what we had walked yesterday evening. Back at the van we settled in for a quiet evening- the only excitement being in the form of a roo that decided to hop around the park for a while before he found his way out. Needless to say, our dogs were well entertained! There are roos everywhere around Mallacoota, I think anyone without a fence would have them in their front yard, they are in the school grounds and the foreshore campground, and am sure they are probably up the main street at times. Definitely gives credence to the belief of many overseas people that it is normal practice for them to be hopping up and down the main roads of our cities and towns!
