What a unique and memorable Christmas it has been. We started our day by attending Christmas Day service at a church not far from Penny's home. My first impression was what a cultural, racial mix the congregation was. It was also a very different atmosphere from the church I attended as a child as it was not nearly as quiet or solemn an atmosphere; people talked during the service, there was laughter and clapping. Since the turkey was done, we ate earlier than planned and what a scrumptious meal we consumed. Nona made the most delicious Brussel sprouts ever with curry, coconut milk, ginger and other spices. All of us gals helped create the meal which made it all the more fun to prepare. Feeling sooooo stuffed, we rested before heading to the pool. I relished in the unusualness of such an activity on Christmas Day. Oh, yeah, forgot to mention that we opened gifts after church, enjoying the treasures gifted to us. I am spoiled.

Boxing Day now and we've had a lazy morning. Soon we will go for manicures/pedicures; more spoiling for me. This afternoon I will soak up more sun poolside.

Over the top fun. Surrounded by the warmth and love of family. About as close to heaven as you can get,me thinks.
