Valley View Retreats was a short break we went on in October. This is a lovely holiday lodge set in the Welsh countryside. Access to the lodge is via a single track lane for about half a mile.

From the left side of the track past the farmhouse are two lodges. We stayed in the top lodge and this had lovely views across the valley. We arrived in the dark so were not able to fully appreciate the views until the next morning, however it was a very nice vista to wake up to.

We love the Mid Wales region and had a lovely walk from Devils Bridge Falls. Although it was described as an easy riverside walk you can see from some of the photos that it was not exactly an easy walk.

The first part of the walk took us up the steep hill and the views from the top were breathtaking. Stunning panoramic vistas from all angles and we were lucky enough to have good weather, which if you know Wales can often not be the case.

The other part of our trip was to head to the coast and we took the stunning coastal road which comes up from Aberdyfi and Tywyn towards Barmouth. This road is amazing and if you are in this area then make sure you check it out.

After our action packed days heading back to the lodge to relax was perfect. We had a hot tub with our one and that was ideal for making sure we could ease the aches and pains of our limbs.

The dog was made very welcome and settled in very well. Speaking to the owner of the accommodation we even found out there were some lovely walks directly from the lodge. So next time we come, of which we will, then we will check these out as well.

Somehow just three days away never seems quite enough, must remember next time to take a week away and really explore further. Perhaps into the Snowdonia National Park. We booked our trip from a company called Holidayparkhol.
