Sunday 4th Sept - in Warialda - Father’s Day

Up early at 7:30 to do the washing, but a bit delayed waiting for the caretaker to come and get a wayward machine going. Happy Fathers Day all you dads. Gobble some breakfast and off to church at 10:00am. We were made most welcome by the 11 folk in the congregation at St Stephen’s Presbyterian. The service was taken by a retired farmer who travels in from Inverell each week and takes his turn doing the service. It was very thought-provoking talking to them over morning tea, wondering what the future of the church will be when these folk (mainly our age or older) are no longer capable of either working in the church - or even attending.

During the day the two Rons have been in touch with their family remembering Father’s Day. How wonderful to have family who care for us. After lunch we travelled out to the East a few kms to look at a location called Cranky Rock. It was a small but spectacular area of granite boulders with Reedy Ck running through the middle.

What a special relaxing day this has been. The van is refuelled with water - all appliances and gadgets have been recharged and we are ready for moving on again tomorrow.
