Weather: Hot and Sunny

On the recommendation of our guide book we headed along the Giffre River Valley to the Cirque du Fer-a-Cheval at the end of the valley. It was not only a spectacular ride along the valley but when we got to the end Cirque du Fer-a-Cheval was well worth the drive.

The cirque is a vast semicircle of limestone walls up to 700m high and 4- 5km long, from which spring countless waterfalls. We took the designated path into the horseshoe. A lovely walk.

After leaving the cirque we followed signs through the village Sixt-Fer-a-Cheval to a beautiful waterfall before heading back to base.
