Another Bridge

Illinois River

Illinois River

Busy River

Downstream To The Mississippi

We continue east. Again, I change our destination.

To avoid Peoria, we head south on Route 97. It is cross-country and a good choice. It is our job to check all of the corn fields.

We arrive in Havana where we cross the Illinois River. The Illinois River Road is very nice. The water on the rivers is very high.

My destination for today was Champaign. I tell John that we have stayed in the next campground on a previous trip. Wait, I think we got stuck in this campground! I am sure of it. Tom E. was with us and had to pull us out. Time for a change of plans.

We are on Route 136. It is a straight road east. There is a small campground in Rantoul. We decide that this is a better choice. We are in our new campsite by 1:00.

Everyone is talking about the heat. It is supposed to be ninety degrees and feeling like ninety-two. I guess this is accurate but it seems hotter. Our campground host tells us that they are not used to ninety and one hundred degree heat.

I have the urge to turn north. I have to remind myself that it is summer. It is hotter than we want but we will continue east tomorrow. The RV is air conditioned!
