Rose Cottage - Dunfermline

After our daily full English breakfast we headed out to The North Country of England. We detoured south so we could take in the scenery of Cambridge University. We continued North through Robin Hood Country (Nottingham) and then a stop for the night at Boroughbridge. A relaxing evening walk thru town and the shops. We checked into our BnB for the night (Crown Hotel operated by Best Western). A fabulous dinner followed by British Sticky Pudding for dessert.

An early morning start for our Northumberland National Forest drive. We continued north until Darlington UK where we turned West on A68 for the most stunning and scenic drive we've ever experienced. Various stops along the way including viewing Hadrians Wall area before driving thru spectacular green, lush rolling hills. We stopped for lunch at the Last Cafe in England prior to entering Scotland. Another hour or so before reaching Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland for a two night stay.

After checking in at the Keavil House Hotel.kmmm' BnB ( also operated by Best Western ) we took a cab ride to view the childhood home of Rose Bettles - mother of our good friend John & Karen Bettles. The home is 128 yrs old and was built by her Grandfather. Super pleased that we were able to visit the current owners and take a few photos for the Bettles extended families in the Surrey/Langley areas.

Enjoy the photos and more tomorrow of our full day touring Edinburgh.
