Mary-Jeanine in front of the Milwaukee Museum of Art

Chihuly at Milwaukee Museum of Art

The Wisconsin Premier of Mary-Jeanine Ibarguen

Today is the day! Mary-Jeanine becomes a National Quilt Speaker. This is her first time speaking to a quilting group outside of Florida. Just a few hundred miles farther and we could be in Canada and she could become an International Star.

But that is at the end of the day. We spent the first part of the day in Milwaukee at the Milwaukee Art Museum (MAM). The MAM is housed in a beautiful building. It is shaped to look like a cruise ship and is right on the harbor. The outside of the main building is surrounded by steel ribs. Sort of like the new Florida Polytechnic building outside of Lakeland. As we were walking up, the museum was just opening. Literally opening. The steel ribs were spreading out to the strains of classical music to form a sail for the ship.

The highlight on the way back to our campsite was that Mary-Jeanine got to shop in an actual Lands End store. Oooh-la-la.

The evening ended with Mary-Jeanine's Quilt Guild Program at the Crazy Quilters of Mukwonago. I got to be Mr. Vanna White and hang and take down quilts. I'll have to perfect my role as I get to do this two more times. And the name is pronounced Muck-Wanna-Go (more or less).
