Washing day at camp- dries pretty quickly in 35 plus degree heat!

Ian fossicking for marine fossils

Fossil hunting ground

Rodeo

Took dogs for another walk up to the tourist information, and did a bit of shopping and browsing in shops after doing some washing. As it was a very hot day, we spent most of it trying to stay cool at our camp. I went for a swim at the local pool at about 2.30 pm (very refreshing!), then Ian and I drove out to the fossil hunting site for some fossil hunting. We were the only people there and as it was like a great big quarry, Ruby and Chilli had a fabulous time running and exploring as well as splashing through the water in the bottom of the pit. We found a few rocks with fossils we think they are combination of bits of the bivalve clams Inoceramus and Aucellina as well as fish scales-the fish scales have turned a red-brown colour during fossilisation.

Next stop was rodeo, all the townsfolk were out and about and very community orientated gathering on a very balmy pleasant evening.
